Since its launch in 2012, Stanley/Stella has focused on simplicity, highlighting the very essence of clothing. The driving force behind its founder, Jean Chabert, is to break the mold in order to change perceptions of the textile industry. To offer products that respect people, the environment, and customers.

Stanley/Stella encourages its communities to change positively through its collections and partnerships, offering products that respect people, the environment, and customers.

They offer more authentic and responsible clothing, which their retailers are proud to sell and their customers proud to wear. These are pieces that bring about change in the textile industry, made in a more humane, ethical, and ecological way.

Their fundamental values

These four core values reflect who we are, what we stand for, and what we strive for. They have guided us from the beginning of our journey and continue to do so as we look towards the future.

Human

At Stanley/Stella, everything revolves around people. It's our very essence. From our dealers and suppliers to our employees and customers, we make sure to listen to everyone and treat each person with respect and dignity. We strive to create a positive and supportive ecosystem.

Innovation

Innovation and our entrepreneurial spirit are the driving forces behind Stanley/Stella. We firmly believe that we can foster innovation by choosing the right partners. We are constantly striving to improve our products, our digital services, and our entire supply chain.

Excellency

For you, as for us, every detail counts.
We make no compromises on excellence. We strive to do better in every aspect of our business. Our collections and actions must always aim higher and change the way the textile industry is perceived.

Sustainable development

Sustainable development is at the heart of our corporate culture. We are committed to continuously improving how we create, operate, and manage our waste, from cotton farming to collection. We always act with complete transparency towards people, the planet, and society.

Our planet faces enormous environmental, social, and economic challenges. The fashion industry has a responsibility to respond to these challenges and to evolving needs around the world. Sustainable development and respect for our planet and its people have always been at the heart of Stanley/Stella's activities.

Together with their employees, suppliers and official resellers, Stanley/Stella aims to build a community of individuals who share the same values and the desire to positively influence the Stanley/Stella ecosystem and our industry.

Created in 2022, the Stanley/Stella Charter outlines their values as a company active in the apparel industry. It expresses their commitment to key environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues within their sector. It also describes the ten fundamental principles that guide their behavior and encourage the entire Stanley/Stella community to care for our planet and its people.

THEIR OBJECTIVES AND COMMITMENTS FOR THE PLANET

We know that our planet's natural resources are precious and limited. That's why we want to do everything we can to preserve them. We all know that we are reaching the limits of Earth's natural resources.

At Stanley/Stella, they want to take responsibility for preserving soil, water, air, and biodiversity. They have three areas of action: they do not use any harmful materials or chemicals, they reduce their carbon emissions, and they promote circularity.

Nature protection

Preserving soil, water, air and biodiversity through responsible sourcing of materials, manufacturing, distribution and decoration.

Carbon footprint

Contribute to collective carbon neutrality by reducing CO2 emissions across our value chain and participating in offsetting activities.

Circularity

Limit waste from products and packaging at the production and consumption levels and move towards circular economic models.

THEIR QUEST FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Working towards positive change
The clothing and textile sector is among the least sustainable industries in the world. From day one, they have considered it our shared responsibility to do things differently.

Top quality, made to last
From the first sketch to the last stitch, we create designs built to last.

Certifications

Stanley Stella's supply chain is certified by various independent organizations according to several standards, demonstrating its commitment to healthy and more environmentally friendly practices. However, the company doesn't stop there. It goes beyond certifications to deepen its understanding and encourages positive actions for our planet and its people.

GOTS

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the leading international standard for the production of organic fibers. With its ecological and social criteria, it is the strictest certification for organic cotton.
It guarantees the organic cultivation of cotton without the use of genetically modified seeds or hazardous chemicals. It also ensures traceability, from harvesting the raw material to the end customer, and requires the establishment to provide transaction certificates at each stage of production.

OCS

The Organic Content Standard (OCS) is a voluntary international standard that verifies the presence and quantity of organic materials in a finished product. It tracks the raw material from its source to the finished product. This standard applies to Stanley/Stella products containing less than 70% organic cotton.

GRS

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS) is the leading global standard for recycled textiles. It covers the entire supply chain and addresses traceability, environmental principles, social conditions, chemical content, and labeling. All the recycled cotton, polyester, and nylon we use is GRS certified.

OEKO-TEX

The Standard 100 certification by OEKO-TEX® is one of the world's most recognized standards for assessing the presence of harmful substances in materials. Our certification confirms that Stanley/Stella products are processed without chemicals harmful to human health and the environment. Standard 100 certification also prohibits potentially harmful substances, even if they have not yet been banned by law. It guarantees our products' compliance with the EU REACH regulation.

PETA

Stanley/Stella is a PETA-approved company, which means we are committed to never conducting or commissioning any ingredient, formulation, or finished product testing on animals. Our products are made from 100% vegan materials and are completely free of animal fibers, reflecting our commitment to animal welfare.

At Stanley/Stella, the use of organic cotton has always been a practice, but the company recognizes that, even with GOTS certification and the exclusion of GMOs from organic systems, the organic label does not guarantee the absolute absence of contamination or the presence of GMOs in its products. This is why additional measures are being taken to strengthen traceability throughout the entire value chain.
Stanley/Stella limits the number of suppliers, establishes direct relationships with farmers and ginners, and distinguishes itself by being one of the few companies to conduct its own random testing. These actions are aimed at fulfilling commitments to customers and to the company itself.
It is emphasized that the products fully meet the requirements of GOTS, OCS, GRS, and/or OEKO-TEX certifications. However, Stanley/Stella states that it is not responsible for content deviations, such as GMO contamination, which are beyond its control.

ADHESION

Stanley/Stella is proud to collaboratively address the environmental and social challenges of its industry. As a member of the Fair Wear Foundation and Textile Exchange, the company aims to strengthen the positive impact it can have across all its operations.

Fear Wear Foundation

The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is an independent organization that collaborates with clothing brands, workers, and textile influencers to improve working conditions in factories. The FWF regularly audits our partner factories and establishes the necessary Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) to guarantee workers' rights, safety, dignity, and a living wage. Stanley/Stella has been a member of the FWF since 2012.

Textile Exchange

Textile Exchange is an international non-profit organization that works closely with its members to foster industry transformation through the adoption of preferred fibers, integrity, standards, and responsible supply chains. Stanley/Stella participates in the annual Material Change Index survey, which measures progress toward sustainable raw material sourcing.
